Chris Robinson

Chris Robinson, the actor best known for playing Dr. Rick Webber on "General Hospital" during the height of the show's 1980s popularity, died in his sleep June 9, 2025, at his ranch outside Sedona, Arizona at the age of 86.

Though he was best known for his work on "General Hospital," Robinson's acting career spanned eight decades and around 100 roles, beginning with 1957's "The Midnight Story." Over the years he appeared in "The Donna Reed Show," "Combat!," "The Alfred Hitchcock Hour," "Perry Mason," "Murder She Wrote," and many others, with his '60s work highlighted by a long stint on "12 O'clock High." In the world of soaps, he also appeared in more than 240 episodes of "The Bold and the Beautiful," where he played Jack Hamilton, and 20 episodes of "Another World." However, he was best known for his performance on over 1,000 episodes on "General Hospital." A featured player from 1978 to 1986, along with a few guest appearances in the years that followed (most recently in 2013), Robinson's Dr. Webber was the adoptive father of Laura, one half of the hugely popular Luke and Laura duo played by Anthony Geary and Genie Francis, making him a key figure in one of the most popular soap storylines of all time.

Actor Kin Shriner said on the social media platform X, "We had such fun on General Hospital, he would love to find ways to get you to goof up your lines. I enjoyed our time there!" Actress Abby Rey said on Facebook, "I had the pleasure of working with Chris Robinson a few years ago on a film called "Just For A Week" (2022). He played my on screen father in the film. He was such a wonderful person. May he rest in peace."
