I never met this wonderful sweet spirit but I did graduate from Ivy Tech where Christel House was housed. Her family should be very proud because she has and will continue to change the trajectory of so many people´s lives. I honor you Ms. Christel DeHaan. You remind me of my dear departed mother-Cora Robinson Sanders.

Roundup River Ranch is a non-profit organization in Colorado that serves children with serious illnesses and their families through offering FREE camp experiences that bring joy, hope and FUN to them at a time where they are most vulnerable. Through joint events with the Christel House golf tournaments, we have raised funds to support our beloved kiddos. We send our deepest sympathies at this time of sadness and our heartfelt gratitude for the incredible generosity to our organization and the children and families we serve.

Christel and Jon were my next door neighbors in Zionsville . Both welcomed my Family and I in1977 when we moved from San Francisco. She loved the landscaping of her home. Often , We would wave and talk as she tended her plantings . She loved Music and would invite neighbors into her home for Piano and other recitals . She was a classy Lady who , at heart , liked people . She did move , eventually , to a new larger home close to where we lived . Her new home could house a Classical Orchestra . She entertained with always a fill of Music and good will . She lived her later life doing Good for people of need .
Christel ,You are on the greatest Voyage of All . When You arrive , please reach . Reach out and touch the hand of God , for all of Us .
Ad Astra to a Wonderful Woman .

I never met this phenomenon woman but I felt I knew her kindness and love for children when I read about her. You can't but fall in love with her passion to help the poor and underprivileged. She has achieved so much in her lifetime that some people will only imagine getting done. She came; she saw; She executed and conquered. The blessings of ALMIGHTY GOD continue to be on the projects she started and on her family as she flies away into the unknown.

My deepest sympathies to the family of Christel DeHaan.
I had the honor and pleasure of working for Chris in the early days of RCI. I was hired in May of 1979 as the Director of Data Processing when there were about 17 people in the entire company. We were more like a family than a business. Her passion for RCI was contagious and I credit a great deal of my personal and professional growth to the opportunities and responsibilities she provided to me.
We all worked hard and played hard in those days. Chris would host parties for all of the staff, which sometimes meant a cookout with a variety of sausages from Klemms Meats and a lot of German wine. Great memories.
Chris was always involved in philanthropy and the arts and she encouraged all of us to participate. Providing opportunities to those less fortunate was part of her soul.
Chris, God Bless, and Godspeed until we meet again.

I send my deepest condolences and sympathy to the family of Christel DeHaan. It was an honor and privilege to have worked for Chris in the early days of RCI. I was hired by Chris to be the Director of Data Processing in 1979. There were 17 employees at RCI and was more of a family than a workplace. Reporting directly to Chris provided me with unbelievable opportunities for growth as a professional and a person.
Philanthropy and the arts were part of Chriss soul and she shared those passions with everyone at RCI.
Chris was a unique individual and the impact of Christel House and gifts to the Indianapolis community will be her legacy.
Chris, God bless and Rest In Peace.

We will surely miss this sweet and dynamic woman. I don't want this news to be for real. I would instead have enjoyed anything dynamic that she could teach me. If i in fact got to enjoy her company while helping her choose some different kinds of chicken salad and if i did get to help her choose some different salads on a different day, i'm lucky because she is fun to be with! I was taught by a businessman, Mr Redman, who used to eat at Laughner's and was fun to be with, to make a permanent list of all my blessings and prayers that God answered on a daily basis and i do. He was one of the customers who made one's day heartfelt, not unlike Christel. God Speed
