Christie Starr Kent

Christie Starr Kent, 69, wife of 52 years to Billy G. Kent, died Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at East Cooper Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Kent was born on March 13, 1942 in Pittsburgh, PA, the daughter of the late Paul C. and Selma Steimer Starr. She was a member of Christ Our King Catholic Church. She will be deeply missed by her family including her husband, Billy G. Kent; her son, David P. Kent and his wife Minou of Mount Pleasant, SC; her two daughters, Jean K. Gamble and her fiancé Joe M. Witt of Manning, SC and Dana K. Gepford and her husband Doug of Mount Pleasant, SC; one sister, Nancy L. Starr of Pensacola, FL; five grandchildren, Christopher M. Gamble, Emily K. Gepford, Caroline E. Gepford, Alexandra C. Kent, and Hanna W. Kent. She was pre-deceased by her grandson, Phillip B. Gamble. Family and friends are invited to attend her visitation from 5 PM until 7 PM on Monday, April 11, 2011, with a vigil service beginning at 5 PM, at McALISTER-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, MOUNT PLEASANT FUNERAL HOME, 1520 Rifle Range Road, Mount Pleasant, SC. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM, Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at Christ Our King Catholic Church, 1149 Russell Drive, Mount Pleasant, SC 29464.
