Christina Pistel Obituary
PISTEL Christina M. "Christy" Pistel, age 31, of Lohman, passed away Sunday, March 26, 2006, in Panama City, Florida due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was born October 1, 1974, in Rolla, a daughter of Kenneth L. and Constance J. Bowman Davis. Her father, Kenny Davis and her mother, Connie Davis, survive in Russellville. On August 6, 1994, at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Lohman, Christy married Kevin Pistel, and he survives at their home. She was a 1992 graduate of Russellville High School, a 1993 graduate of Merrell University of Cosmetology and a 2005 graduate of Merrell University of Esthetics. She was a self employed cosmetologist and esthetician, most recently working at A Cut Above Salon and the Riversong Spa, both located in Jefferson City. On April 3, 2006, she was opening Beauty Essentials, which was to be located in her home in Lohman. She was a member of the St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Lohman and worked as a fitness trainer at the Knowles YMCA in Jefferson City. Christy is also survived by one son, Chase Pistel of the home; one brother, Justin Davis of Jefferson City; one sister, Amy Meller of Russellville; her maternal grandparents, Vaughn and Lee Bowman of Jefferson City; two nieces, Shanya Meller and Kambry Pickett, her father and mother-in-law, Leon and Elda Pistel of Lohman; a sister-in-law, Theresa Pistel, also other relatives and a host of friends and clients. Christy was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Raymond and Jean Davis and an uncle, Jack Davis. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 6, at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Lohman, with Pastor Carl Gauck officiating. Burial in St. Pauls Lutheran Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 5, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Russellville. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Chase Pistel Education Fund.

Another year has gone by. I keep thinking I'll miss you less as time goes by, but I don't. I see you every night in my dreams, sometimes we're young again, other times we're older. Most of the time I know what's going to happen, but I can't tell you. All I can do is tell you what a great friend you are and cry to myself. Well Christy, I have settled into my new house, and the kids absolutely love having their own rooms. I don't get to see Chase and Kevin everyday but still talk to them almost every day. Chase is hitting those teenage years. Its crazy how time flies. Miss you and love you.

Well last Friday was the kid's first official school dance, Spring Dance 2008. Chase met some of his classmates to take pictures at the High Point School; he sure is handsome. Well its been two years and still there is not a day that goes by that I don't wish you were here. Kevin looked at Kambry the other evening and said "your aunt Christy would just be having a fit over you," and I know you would. She says some of the funniest things. She looks at your picture all the time and calls you by name and says thats "Chase's mommy." Davin is such a big boy he just got tubes put in so hopefully it makes him feel better. Chase is doing really good in school he is making all A's and B's I know you would be so proud. He also just had his first communion. He is growing up so fast. Grandma is not doing very good she may be joining you soon, so watch for her. I know you are watching over us. We miss and love you so much.

Christy, I still remember that early morning like it was yesterday. Not a day goes by that I don't wish we wouldn't have gone. Yet, I know you are far happier in Heaven than any of us will ever be here. Someday we will understand. You know, as I was reading my scriptures last night I pulled your picture out from between the pages and stared at it for the longest time. I'm trying to be happy...to remember the good times and not everything else. Christy your an aunt again, this time you have your first nephew. He was born August 22nd and weighed 7 lbs 2 ozs and was 19 3/4 inches long and he is beautiful. We named him Davin Mekhi Roman Pickett. I know you were with us when he came into the world. I have heard several times since he has been born that when a baby smiles in his sleep they are talking to the angels. He smiles all the time so I know its you he's talking with. Kambry is the best big sister, I know you would be so proud of her and how big she is getting. Chase is doing good, he has been doing really well in his races on the 4 wheeler and he is close to getting his back flip down. We miss and love you so much.

I made my first trip to the cemetery today to place some fall flowers for Christy. Her family has made a beautiful memorial site; I was able to spot it immediately. Seems like it was only yesterday that we were laughing and talking together while she cut my hair. I miss her alot, as I know so many people do. I hope Kevin, Chase and her family are doing well.
