Mercy John, where did the time go? I remember the stories of how you cared for such a wonderful woman as we remember the life of Christine Blythe.

We can be assured that the Blythe family will always have the assurance knowing that this beautiful lady lives on in our written and spoken words, and our hearts. Much Peace to all of you!

What a blessing to have been a student of Miss Blythe's at Sedgefield Elementary School during the early 1970's. Her gentle spirit and compassion made learning an enjoyable experience and she greatly influenced (and helped quinch!) my thirst for learning. Heaven has gained another jewel. Please accept my deepest sympathy.

Though I know we will meet again, for now I resign myself to missing my great-aunt Christine, one of my all-time favorite people, immensely. Now, I look back even more fondly on the summer weekends I spent with her during my childhood. Even though I came along shortly after she retired she was always the teacher and she (along with my grandmother) instilled in me a love of learning. I miss the impromptu french, history, geography and geology quizzes. To this day I always think of her when I look at an atlas and when playing trivial pursuit. I even miss the well-intentioned scolding about how young ladies were to sit just so! I love you!

Thanks for letting us know about Christine. We did not know her personally, but felt as though we did after hearing your many stories of her through the years. You and your family certainly have our sympathy. She certainly was blessed with a long life and many accomplishments, and we know she influenced you to be the person you are.

This morning when I opened the obituaries and saw Miss Blythe's picture, I knew this was my 6th grade teacher. This was in 1969-70 at Sedgefield Elementary. She was the kindest lady and I loved her alot. She was one of my favorite teachers and I have spoken of her as recently as a few months ago. I now homeschool my daughter who is in high school and have an even greater appreciation for the sacrifices of our teachers. She was a jewel and I just wanted someone in her family to know how she touched my life nearly forty years ago. I know she will be missed. God bless! Peggy (Caudle) Beck

I know that Ms. Christine will be missed...she was an avid supporter of young adults and higher education. My prayers are with you all.

Christine was a delightful lady and enjoyed life well until these last few years. My thoughts are with John Blythe and the rest of Christine's family.

Ms. Christine was always a second mother to our family. She was always very talkative and welcoming. We will miss you.
