It is very rare to meet a person who can have a huge impact on your life in a very short time. Christine was such a person. She came into our lives at Mooroolbark Primary School. Our Principal, Marion McGill, had procured her and charged her with the seemingly impossible tasks of rescuing the school from closure, lifting morale and improving the school's academic performance. Working together with Marion, Christine's energy, passion and ability to read a situation and come up with solutions resulted in immediate and positive changes. Christine had an amazing capacity to relate with everyone, helped by a slightly irreverent sense of humour. Our school became a fun place to be, full of joy, respect, pride and singularly bonded as a community. An image of walking into school one morning, heading to the staffroom and meeting Christine in brightly-coloured flannel pyjamas, wearing big fluffy rabbit slippers and surrounded by excited Prep children after their sleepover typifies everything that Christine stood for - the children always came first! She expected the best from everyone and led by example and I feel very privileged to have known her and counted her as a friend. I will miss her. My sincere condolences to Noel and all the family.

I'm in shock. Just discovered this tragic news. Deepest condolences to Noel and family. She will be missed. Such an inspiration. A loyal friend, a hard worker, an ethical person, a brilliant teacher, an amazing mum, a fantastic cook. Rest in peace lovely lady. Your no nonsense empathy, home spun wisdom, quirky humour, willing help and unconditional friendship will be sadly missed. Go gently. Your memory lives in our hearts

Spotty you were a true individual, heaps of fun during those crazy senior high school years and beyond. We haven't crossed paths for years but never forgotten
