I really got to know Aunt Chris well over the past few years. She became more of a friend than an aunt. I think that’s what was so special about her. She broke through labels. She wasn’t the disabled woman with CP in a wheel chair. She was the funny lady, with a great sense of humour, a rubber lip, and a kind heart. Her influence on my life has just begun as I have chosen a career in hopes to help people like Christine find their voice. Even though Christine has shown me how words are needless so long as you have the presence of mind. Her body will be missed, but her presence will forever live in my heart.

Aunt Chris is my inspiration to living life to its fullest, as well as the root that keeps me grounded. Even with so many challenges to face everyday, she made living life look so easy. I will miss her infectious smile and her ability to listen like no other. I believe we continue to live on in the minds of those that knew us, and so Aunt Chris, you will always be with us. Thank you for being you.

I spent a great deal of my childhood with Chris and her family, her mom Kay,her sister Moe, her brother Alan and her dog McDuff. They lived next door to us and it was like having two families in one. We were best friends. I would get to go with Chris and her family to alot of special places but most of all I loved to go with them in the summer to some of Chris's favorite places like Crescent Beach, and Bowen Island and pretty much anywhere there was water, cause she really loved to swim. Chris always had a great circle of friends because she was so easy to love. When they moved away our lives seemed to always be so busy, but we were still thrilled to be invited to the special family functions, birthdays and trips to the beach so we could catch up and meet her new friends. Chris always had spunk and personality plus. She would give you that look and right behind it was a great big smile. You were a very special person to all of our family, AND I THANK YOU CHRIS FOR BEING A SPECIAL RAY OF SUNSHINE IN MY LIFE.
