Christopher Baker Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 15, 2024.
Christopher Leon Charles Baker graduated from his amazing life journey into his omnipresent soul surrounded by his loved ones on August 31, 2024. He is survived by his adoring wife of 25 years Janet L. Baker, their 5 children, Hank (Heather) Fowler, Tristan (Bethany) McMullin, Lindsey (Kenneth) Facemire, Leslie (Addison) Baker, and Lexsis (Shay) Baker. His children made him what he was born to be, a Grandpa "Papa," with 9 grandchildren, and still more to come.

Chris is survived by his brother Nick Baker, sister Janet A. Baker, sister-in-law Christina (Brad) Gray, brother-in-law Thomas (Charlotte) Bunner, brother-in-law Richie Bunner, and mother-in-law Sherry Bunner. Chris shared many special nieces and nephews who also gave him the gift of being a great-uncle.

Chris is proceeded in death by his mother Theresa E. Baker, grandparents Janet (Donald) Ake, grandfather Charles Baker, mother-in-law Faye Miller, brother-in-law Brandon Duncan, brother-in-law Bill Bunner and others who he loved and he missed deeply.

Chris was beyond grateful for Charles Baker, Donald Ake, Robert Swan, and Thomas Bunner for being fatherly figures through-out his life. The word love understates the way he felt for all of his family and friends, close and far. He was a family man who considered anyone who loved him to be his family, forever growing.

Chris, a business owner doing general contracting, and a jack of all trades. He could do anything, never did he say he couldn't, he would figure it out. He was learning so much and studying the worlds around him through history and interesting researchers, looking for truths. He and Janet were fortunate to experience the beauty that is Norway this past November, described as magical by them. He had a passion for teaching what he learned and sharing all he knew to those close to him and of course complete strangers, he loved people. Hank, his biggest fan and best friend, spent his life emulating his dad. Chris lived, he was fearless, strong, and quite the force to be reckoned with. At 6'5" he wasn't hard to find, this had its pros and cons. We have so many huge memories, we had 47 full years, which could never be enough. He is loved and will be forever missed by all.

His celebration of life will be held October 6th, 2024 at Kenmore Community center located at 880 Kenmore Blvd., Akron, Ohio 44314, from 2:30pm until 6pm.
