PIQUA — Christopher A. Barnhart went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, Nov. 2, 2018, at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton, Ohio.

He was born on Feb. 26, 1954, in Piqua, to the late Ivan D. Barnhart and Effie Lee (Lewing) Barnhart.

Chris attended Piqua City Schools, where he graduated. He worked at various jobs, and was respected by his co-workers.

Chris read the Bible and loved the Lord with all his heart. He had a love for art and enjoyed painting and drawing, and like to listen to the music of Sonny and Cher.

Chris was as fantastic gardener and grew gorgeous day lilies as well as numerous other beautiful flowers.

Chris loved being outside and sitting by a campfire. He was a person that cared about others as well as animals.

Chris was preceded in death by both of his parents and two brothers, Gerald Duane Barnhart and Bobby Dayle Barnhart.

He is survived by his sister, Marsha Barnhart, and cousins, Steve, Cathy and Tim Barnhart, as well as cousins Linda Glaspie, Sherry Lee, Patsy, Leada Mae and families.

He is also survived by close friends, Judy Kehler and Sharen Wenrick, Linda Osbourne, and his faithful companion, his dog Bizzi.

Chris's wish was to donate his body to Wright State.

I am so sorry for your loss. May the precious memories you have help you cope and bring you peace. 1 Thes. 4:14 can bring you some comfort knowing that there is a future for the loved ones we have lost in death. May the God of peace be with you and your family.

We were best friends as next door neighbors, growing up on Wood St. In Piqua. I spent a lot of time at the Barnhart house. Me, Chris and Marsha did a lot of things together. He loved Cher way back then. I wish we would have kept in touch.
