Christopher Burns

Christopher J. Burns, 43, passed away on April 25, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Alexandra (Chiulli) Burns. A devoted father to sons Dylan and Donovan, Chris eagerly anticipated the birth of a third son this fall. His children were his absolute pride and joy. Born in Boston and raised in Foxborough, MA, he was the loving son of Mary Coughlin Burns (Al Parrillo) and Clement Burns (Terri). He also leaves behind his adored brother Gregory Burns (Amanda, nephew Ben); his in-laws Laura and Alfred Chiulli; and his sister and brother-in-law Electra Chiulli and the late A.J. Chiulli. Chris was close to his large extended family and will be remembered by his many aunts, uncles, cousins, step-siblings, and lifelong childhood friends.

Upon graduating from Foxborough High School in 2000, Chris attended Bridgewater State University where he played basketball. Early in his career, he worked for the Sheet Metal Workers Union, Local 17, in Boston for several years before ultimately deciding to change his life path.

Chris's life took a beautiful turn when he decided to move to San Diego, believing there was more "out there" for him. It is there that he met the love of his life, Alex. San Diego became a place of joy and adventure for Chris-it fit with his carefree, fun-loving personality. He embraced surfing, sunny skies, and all the best life had to offer. While in San Diego, he graduated from National University, earning a bachelor's degree in Construction Management. His strong work ethic and commitment to excellence eventually led him to a fulfilling role as a project manager with Environmental Systems, Inc.

Together, Alex and Chris built a beautiful life full of laughter, love, adventure, and unforgettable memories, first in California and then in Rhode Island with their growing family. Their home became the hub for friend and family gatherings.

Chris loved music and sports. Throughout his adolescence and adulthood, he enjoyed attending Pearl Jam concerts all over the country with his childhood friends. A gifted athlete, Chris played basketball in high school and college and carried that competitive spirit with him throughout his life. Each spring, Chris lit up during March Madness, often crafting a winning bracket and enjoying the thrill of the tournament. He was also an avid golfer who cherished tee times with his brother, father, and high school friends. His love for sports extended beyond the course-as a die-hard Boston sports fan, something he shared in common with his mother Mary. A proud coach of his children's teams, he always cheered them on from the sidelines. Chris smiled from ear to ear when sharing his love of sports with his boys, who he affectionately referred to as "The Wolfpack."

His passion for family, music, and sports defined him-but above all, it was Chris' bright smile, warmth, loyalty, kindness, and sense of humor that left a lasting mark on everyone who was fortunate enough to know him. His presence will be deeply missed.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, May 17 from 4-7 pm at Fagan-Quinn Funeral Home, 825 Boston Neck Road, North Kingstown, RI.
