The Catherwood family house was always my home away from home growing up. The love Chris and Laura had for their daughters was always so apparent, and they made no exceptions when it came to sharing that love with me. I´m forever grateful to Chris for welcoming me into his home, for picking me and Kelsey up from the Y or basketball practice or whatever dumb things we were up to as know-it-all middle schoolers. He always met my snark and sarcasm head on, and my childhood was brighter for knowing him.

Chris was a great guy. He always had a smile on his face and always looked for the positive side of any situation. He loved his wife and daughters very much and only had good things to say about them. He was already diagnosed with cancer when I met him for the first time. He made a decision to live life to the fullest for the time he had left and that´s exactly what he did.
Good Bless you in Heaven our Friend

I didn't know Chris well enough, but the whole Catherwood family has been nothing but wonderful to me and Nya at every turn. Chris showed me how to put the world down for a moment and be present in the day, which is something that I have always admired more than I can say. I'll never forget that contagious joy and emanating love for his family that defined him. We'll miss you, man

My endless love and support goes to all of the Catherwood ladies. Laura, Kelsey, Avery, and Maggie, I look forward to seeing and hearing about the many adventures you each embark on in the future, knowing your husband/dad is by your sides, enjoying every second. In this time of mourning, may you know that I am here to turn to for support, however that may look. I love you each dearly. (Kelsey and Laura, I hope you told him to make you some biscuitsssss!)

My daddy was the best person I´ve ever known. He was relentlessly funny, admirably (though sometimes infuriatingly) mischievous, and endlessly positive. He taught me everything I know about slowing down, enjoying life, and letting the sunshine do its job. I will carry him with me everywhere I go.
All my life I have been so afraid of death, of not knowing what comes next when we get folded back into the universe. I´m no longer so afraid; when my time comes, I know that wherever I may go, my father will be there too. I love you pops.

Chris was an encourager-always had positive words, cheers and smiles. He challenged us to do our best. We fought through workouts and healthy diet challenges together-sugar intake being the hardest one! He shared secrets of getting through things that we will always remember...and make us smile!
