I will always remember Chris putting a piece of pie in his pocket to save it for later

I first met Chris when I was in my first year as a social worker at Focus on Youth. He was meeting with the founder and Director Cindy Skinner. He was always a supporter of vulnerable children's ministries. As I moved through my career Chris continued to support the programs I was working in and was a trusted thought partner and friend.

I met Chris through a professional effort to get people with disabilities their rightful Social Security and Medicare benefits. The only reason the people were not getting the Social Security benefit and Medicare coverage was because a loved one (family member usually) completed the application wrong. Chris joined this effort to correct the wrongly submitted application for fair evaluation of the benefit based on new and accurate information, and the criteria of law.
The above illustrates Chris, a man of God, who cared enough to right a wrong for people he never met and who he may never meet. Chris cared about people, period. Chris and his staff are the Coalition of Care literally and figuratively.
My deepest condolences to the family. It was an honor to know him.

I met Chris on a mission trip to Nicaragua quite a few years ago. Trips with the Tin Roof Foundation were always meaningful and adventurous. Chris's heartfelt and joyous devotion to the TRF mission created an atmosphere of joy within our whole group. May he now rest in peace.

My sincere condolences to Chris's family. He will be remembered as a gentle giant who had a big heart and a warm smile. He answered the call with a "Yes" and didn't look back. Miss you brother! Sharen Ford, Focus on the Family
