Chris Emerson, beloved husband of Michelle of Chestermere, passed away at the Foothills Hospital on July 27, 2015 at the age of 40 years. Chris will be sadly missed but forever remembered by his wife Michelle; his parents Paul and Barb Emerson; his brothers: Rob (Corinne) Emerson and James (Amy) Emerson; his sister Michelle (Geoff) McIlwraith as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his grandparents Ed and Marie Emerson and George and Margaret McQueen; brother-in- law Gerry Fortis; Uncle Eric and Aunt Sharon Emerson and his Aunt Carolyn Emerson. Donations in Chris's memory may be made directly to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, #100, 119 - 14 Street NW, Calgary, AB T2N 1Z6 (www.heartandstroke.ab.ca). A Memorial Service will be held at Good Shepherd Anglican Church (15495 Castle Downs Road NW, Edmonton) on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. To express condolences, please visit:

Barb and Paul, was so very sorry to hear of Chris' passing. I was away and couldn't attend the funeral, but you all were in my thoughts and prayers all day. We know that he is in a good place now. May he rest in peace

Very saddened to hear of Chris passing away. I met both Chris and Michelle when I worked with them at Millennium Insurance. I remember going out for lunches with Chris and hitting 7/11 for an energy drink in the afternoon to keep us awake!
He was a good guy. I enjoyed his company...
It has personally bothered me since I've heard of his passing. Heck, he was only 40. He was exactly 2 years and 2 weeks younger than myself. I can't help to think that it isn't right or fair that he's gone. It just goes to show you that nobody knows their future no matter how healthy they think they are...
All I know is this: One must plan for the future, but we have to live for today....
I'll meet up with you once again buddy when it's my time to join you...

Michelle: We first knew Christopher when he was very little. My husband, Scott, worked with his dad in Dawson Creek. We got to know the family very well and had so much fun with them. In particular, Christopher - blonde, beautiful blue eyes, dimples on his cheek and that special smile he had!! Scott and I babysat him and the others many times. I, Diane, read many a stories to him. He just loved them - one more please!!! We remember a particular incident - he some how managed to get up on the dresser and grab a set of car keys. Yup, started the car and tried to drive off!!! I believe he did run into something. He was up to mischief again. He was so lovable - how could anyone get upset with him - he was Christopher; smiley Christopher; that dimple; and oh those blue eyes! That's how we remember him. Scott and I wanted so badly to come to his parents anniversary the past year but were unable to make it. It had been a long time since we had seen the family. In particular, we wanted to meet with the children's extended family; their spouses and their children. We hope one day that we may be able to spend some time with you and go over those fond memories we had of Christopher and update us on his more recent life. We loved that little man! We are so saddened to hear of his passing. May you have strength, comfort and courage in the days ahead and keep those loving memories to hold in your heart forever. I met Chris through our mutual friends Clint & Cheryl and got to know him at their wedding. He was a great guy who always had a smile on his face. I remember all the photos he was taking, particularly of the flowers and he captured them perfectly from the ones that I seen. I am so sorry for your loss. May the peace which comes from the memories of love shared comfort you now and in the days ahead.
