AGE: 16 • Manasquan
Christopher A. Grella, 16, of Manasquan, passed away suddenly at home on Monday, April 16, 2012. Christopher was a sophomore at Wall High School. He loved hanging out with his friends and thoroughly enjoyed being with his family especially his dog "Buddy."
Christopher was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Nunziante Grella; and his maternal grandfather, Americo Graziosi. He is survived by his loving parents, Dr. Louis and Angela Grella; and his brother, Nicholas, all of Manasquan. Christopher is also survived by his paternal grandmother, Lucia Grella; and maternal grandmother, Lucia Graziosi, both of Glen Cove; his aunts and uncles, Dominico and Virginia Grella of Glen Cove, Long Island, Patricia Grella-Marazita and her husband John of Bethpage, Long Island, Rosemarie and Wendell Sekelsky of Glen Cove, Long Island and Lena and Michele Stanco of Clifton, VA; and two cousins, Roberto and Erica Stanco.
Relatives and friends are invited to call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, April 18 at Orender Family Home for Funerals, 2643 Old Bridge Road, Manasquan. On Friday, April 20, there will be a visitation from 7 to 9 p.m. at Funeral Home of Dodge-Thomas, Glen Cove. A Mass will be 9 a.m. Saturday, April 21 at the Church of St. Rocco, Glen Cove, Long Island. Interment at Holy Rood Cemetery, Westbury, Long Island. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718. Dear Grella Family,
I am a new student at Wall HS and met Chris this year in one of my classes. Everyday we would talk for a few minutes and look up really funny videos on our ipods. The day before our Spring break, he walked in our class and said to the teacher, "You know, today I am really happy. I'm usually not, but today I am". I smiled at him and said, "that's good Chris" .Chris was one of the first kids to talk to me as the "new kid". He was a great addition to have in our class and I will miss him alot.

Dear Grella Family,
We want to thank you for allowing us to share in the joy of knowing and sharing in the life of your beautiful son. He was Marc's first friend and they remained friends always. We all loved him so very much and remember all the fun times we had together. He was kind, loving and gentle, always ready to lend a helping hand. I will always remember Marc and Chris' 8th grade graduation when Marc's gown was lost and Chris, without hesitation, told Marc to "take mine." He meant it too and would have graduated without one rather than see a friend go without. He was a special beautiful person and now his soul will rest in peace with the Lord.
