Christopher J. Hanson, age 56, of Hanover, formerly of Braintree, died peacefully on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, in the comfort of his sister's home and surrounded by his loving family.

Chris was born, raised, and educated in Braintree. He was a graduate of Archbishop Williams High School, Class of 1985, and the Isenberg School of Management, University of Massachusetts Amherst, Class of 1990. He later earned an MBA from Babson College.

He was the beloved son of Ann J. "Nancy" (Dempsey) Hanson of Braintree and the late Frederick W. Hanson Jr., D.M.D. One of thirteen siblings, Chris was the devoted brother of Katherine M. Hanson of Braintree; Elizabeth A. Hanson of Quincy; Margaret E. Iverson and her husband Mark of Hanover; Francis X. Hanson and his wife Renee of Orefield, Pa.; Patricia R. Hanson and her husband Mitchell Waters of Hanover; John L. Hanson of Randolph; Barbara J. Lynch and her husband Neil of Lake Forest, Ill.; Thomas P. Hanson of Braintree; Regina M. Hanson of Belmont; Susan T. Hanson and her husband Christopher Morris of Belmont; Julie F. Hanson, D.M.D., and her husband Eram Zaheer of Shrewsbury; and the late Frederick W. Hanson Jr.

Loving uncle of Taylor and Emily Hanson, Christian and Erik Iverson, Mary Waters, Kamran and Aidan Zaheer, twins Vivienne and Bennett Morris, and Patrick, Daniel, and Matthew Lynch.

Chris is also survived by many cousins and friends and their families.

Chris was a certified public accountant and a certified financial planner. He was self-employed and had worked in the financial service industry for many years. In addition, he authored the Wicked Smart Investor blog and coordinated the annual Ann J. Hanson Nursing Conference for continuing education.

Family was important to Chris, and he relished family gatherings. He was proud to be godfather to his nephew Kamran and he was devoted to the care and happiness of his nephew Erik.

Chris was a lifelong music lover who enjoyed attending concerts with friends and family. He was interested in New England culture and history and was a devoted supporter of New England-made products. He was a loyal friend and a very social animal who was often the life of any party.

Chris was a compassionate person, he championed people with disabilities and recognized those who are often unseen.

Visiting hours will be held in Saint Francis of Assisi Church, 856 Washington Street, Braintree, on Thursday, October 3, from 4 -7 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Saint Francis of Assisi Church, 856 Washington Street, Braintree, on Friday, October 4, at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, 990 LaGrange Street, West Roxbury.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Chris's memory may be made to Archbishop Williams High School, Office of Advancement, 40 Independence Avenue, Braintree, MA 02184.
