I am so sorry to hear about Chris. I graduated a year after him from Harborfields High School. I knew him a little bit through the high school musicals - he played in the band a few times and I tried to sing. He just seemed like such a nice, kind, genuine person and that was really rare to find back in high school. In fact, I believe we went to the same doctor at one point (Dr. Gandhi) - i remember I ran into him there once in the waiting room. I think we were both kind of surprised to see each other there. We smiled at each other as if to say "Hey, I'm not alone". We never talked about why either of us went there and we didn't have to. It sort of made me feel better knowing that I wasn't the only one my age who was struggling. It gave me some comfort to know that there was someone who maybe felt the same way I did - that there was someone on my "team" who understood. And it gave me something I hadn't felt in a while - it gave me hope. I will never forget him for that. I know that there is a very, very special place for him in heaven.
My deepest sympathies,
Kim Shannon

I am so very sad to learn of Chris's passing. He was a favorite student of mine. I remember his courage with his diabetes and asthma. However, Chris just wanted to do it all and he did in my music classes. He sang in chorus, and participated in theory class and the high school musicals. He had a wonderful outlook and a warm smile . I know how much he loved music and it was my priviledge to have known him.
I know how much he admired Erik and looked up to him as the big brother. My heartfelt sympathy to all of you. He will live on in the memory of others.
With great saddness,
Karen Miller ( Retired music teacher, Harborfields S.D.)

I am so sorry to have found out about Chris' passing. I graduated with him, and though we did not keep in touch through the years, he was one of the only truly kind people I have met. He went throuh a lot back then and always had a smile on his face. 12 years later I still remember that. I wish his family and friends all the best.
