Christopher John Holiday

Christopher (Chris) John Holiday, 76, passed away on October 29, 2024, with his beloved daughter by his side, after a long battle with the effects of a stroke and dementia.

Born in Syracuse, NY, on June 4, 1947, to Elizabeth "Betty" Raeburn and Claude Holiday, Christopher's life was marked by extraordinary achievements and an even greater heart. After graduating from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with a BS in Accounting and becoming a CPA, he went on to pursue his passion for golf and business. He co-founded a chain of golf companies with his great friend, Jim Whiteside. His career culminated in the highly respected role of Senior Executive Vice President of National Sales at Callaway Golf, where he was admired for his visionary leadership and unshakable integrity.

Chris was known not only for his remarkable professional success but also for his kind and generous nature. He approached every role with passion and dedication. A true mentor and friend to many, he was revered for his wisdom and compassion, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Outside of work, Chris loved life to the fullest. His passions included the golf world, cheering on his alma mater's sports teams, exploring new destinations, music, cars, great food, a fine glass of wine, and-most of all-being an extraordinary grandfather. He deeply cherished his friendships. His love for his family and zest for life were evident in everything he did.

But the greatest joy and purpose in Christopher's life was his daughter, Corey, whom he raised with his whole heart. Their bond was unbreakable. He poured everything he had into being her father-guiding, supporting, and loving her through every season of life. There was nothing he wouldn't have done for her. Corey was the light of his life, and his pride in her was immeasurable.

He is preceded in death by the love of his life and wife, his forever love, Cathleen Holiday, and his younger sister, Sheliah. He is survived by his devoted daughter, Corey; his cherished grandchildren, Hunter and Jameson, who brought him endless joy; and his brother and best friend, Howard Holiday, with whom he shared a lifelong bond rooted in their deep conversations about sports, politics, and life. Their connection was one of true brotherhood and camaraderie, built on mutual respect and a shared passion for spirited debate.

Chris is also remembered by countless friends, extended family, and colleagues who will carry his memory with love and admiration.

He was laid to rest beside Cathy at Red Rocks Amphitheatre-forever holding the best seats to every concert.
