Chris,
you gave so many so much. I wish you could have never run out - but it seems true that stars that burn twice as bright burn half as long.
You were the first to make me feel pride in my work. It brought me joy every time we spoke - that booming laugh! and of course your food... You were always first stop for touring interstate visitors.
You were Hobart's pride and joy.
Vale dear man.

Chris
What an amazing friend and amazing chef!!! My fondest memories, our younger years together and the many picnics we had, the craziest fashion we wore in the 80's and jiving to the B52's over and over again. The most classic of them all the bread stick falling out of the good old Morris Minor, gee that car had some guts.
These will never ever be forgotten, you will always be in my thoughts. Your friend forever and always until we meet again. Michelle Smith xx

I met Chris when I was just starting my fledging food business back in '93. The first time I met Chris I knew nothing about him but I intuitively knewe that he was definately the most creative, talented and out there chef in Tassie at the time. I later learnt that he had won many awards and was a star not only to me but to the whole industry. We became friends and I loved his parties , he was fun, creative and truly inspirational . His legacy will be with us for a long long time Sally Bruen Melbourne x

JACKMAN, Christopher Robin. - I am so proud and honored that you were my brother. I have so many beautiful memor ies. Your cheeky smile, the silly jokes we played. Cups of tea and way too many biscuits. You being there for Mum and Dad through good and bad times no matter what. Walking around in the dark looking for lambs and off chasing the cows when they got out. You would pick up a bale of hay like it was a loaf of bread and there I would be trying to lift one off the ground as it would be heavier than me. You would laugh and throw mud at me and we both ended up with gumboots full of hay and mud all over us and the biggest smiles on our faces. There'll never be another to replace you in my heart. I will love you forever. Kylie, Dave, David and Caitlin.
