Dear Craig and Brenda,
Austin and I will so miss Kyle's big smile and wave of the hand whenever he saw us. Whenever we talked, he was always interested in others, not talking about himself, and had humorous anecdotes to share about Bailey and life. He was the nicest friend and neighbor we could ever hope to have. Now, everytime we see the empty house across the street, it seems so lonely without him. We'll miss him and his beloved "Flabrabor," Bailey. He was a wonderful guy. May God be with you always and hold you in his hands. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Love,
Austin and Suzanne

Craig and Brenda - words can not express the loss you guys are feeling. It only seems like yesterday that he was the young man at Clemson that Craig and I use to talk about at work. He will be missed deeply. Love you guys dearly.

So sorry for your loss. Shared 3 years at Clemson with Kyle and I cannot recall a single memory without a huge smile on his face. I am confident that is how he is remembered by all. A bigger personality you could not find.

Kyle has a big bright personality that energizes every room he enters. I knew him at Clemson (early to mid 90s). Whenever I saw him, I hollered to him like he was a celebrity, "It's Kyyyyle Merrrck!" He played along with my silly antic (such a good sport). That's how I remember him .... a congenial, fun-loving person that turned seemingly insignificant "everyday" moments into memorable ones. I am so sorry for your loss.

I was so sorry to hear the news about Kyle from one of his fraternity brothers. Prayers for the family.

Mr. and Mrs. Merck, I know that words are insufficient at this time. However, I hate to miss an opportunity to express how special Kyle was to me. One of my friends and I spent most of the summer with Kyle and his roommate a few years ago, and Kyle and I have kept in touch. I don't know anyone with his charm, wit and charisma. Spending time with Kyle brightened my life----only God knows what it meant to me. And words would just trivialize it. It feels like a painful, empty space in our hearts. . I am so sorry for your loss. Please accept my condolences. You are on my mind and I am praying for Jesus to help you.

Mr. and Mrs. Merck,

I was truly heartbroken to hear of Kyle's passing. We have known each other almost 20 years and he still always knew how to make me laugh. From the day we met, to the last time we spoke a few months ago, he was always charming, funny, thoughtful and kind. I will miss our talks and his beautiful smile. Please know how much Kyle was truly loved by so many people. My deepest sympathy and thoughts are with you and your family.

Mr. and Mrs. Merck
To sum Kyle up... HE WAS SIMPLY THE BEST! Our story began my first day of gym class. I was in the 7th grade, and he was in the 9th. The kids bullied me relentlessly. Kyle stepped up to the plate for me, no one messed with a friend of Kyle Merck's! In 10th grade, I tried out for cheerleading at EHS, again he had my back and it wasn't easy. He continued to have my back on through high school, college, and until his crossing over. Many 2 am and 3 am phone calls and endless texting, just to be my listening ear and a place to vent. For some unknown reason after a few hours, I would hearing snoring on the other end. I would just get in my car and drive from Central to Linden Drive, toot the horn and yell Kyle Merck, didn't you hear me..I'm not finished! He never complained. Just invited me in and went back to sleep as I went on and on, like I'm doing now. LOL. Our hearts are broken, but my late Dad always told me, there are no wounds that God can't heal. May God bless you and keep you, until we all me again.

Kyle would light up the room, enliven the party, make you laugh so hard it hurt. He could take the worst situations and somehow find the fun that everyone else was looking past. I can still hear "I caught you looking at me" echo in my head as the best and worst pick up line ever used at Clemson, like a lot of things Kyle could pull that off with a laugh and smile where the rest of us would have crashed and burned every time. He will be missed but his stories will live on with us forever.
