Christopher Moran

Christopher J. Moran a resident of Pikesville Maryland died Friday October 12, at the age of 58 from complications of Type II Diabetes. He was a retired civil engineer who enjoyed model railroading, working on computers, and sailing on Deep Creek Lake. The son of Dr. Walter H. Moran Jr. and Joan Oty Moran, he was raised in Morgantown West Virginia where he graduated from St. Francis High School and West Virginia University with a master's degree in Civil Engineering. He also did doctoral studies at Johns Hopkins University before entering the private sector at Johnson Mirmiran & Thompson Engineering firm in Hunt Valley Maryland. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Cheryl Nottingham, his father, his sister Caroline Moran Robison, two nieces and five nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother. Chris was an intelligent, generous soul who would help anyone in need. He volunteered for many years with Monongalia Emergency Medical Services as a licensed Emergency Medical Technician and helped many friends, especially with their model railroad layouts, even in the last stages of his illness. He will be deeply missed by friends and family. A Memorial Service will be held on November 4, 2018 at the B&O Railroad Museum at 901 West Pratt Street Baltimore Maryland 21223 from 11 AM to 2 PM with a complimentary train ride available at 1:00 PM.
