CHRISTOPHER SMITH Obituary
Age 35, of Pittsburgh, died suddenly on December 6, 2018. Chris fought a long, hard road with addiction and we know he is now free and safe in the arms of Jesus. Born January 16, 1983, beloved son of Sue and the late Tom Smith. Chris was a hard worker and an asset to any employer. He is well thought of and appreciated by many who have crossed his path of employment, rehab, and life. Chris was the son of Sue and the late Tom Smith; brother of Katie (David) Armbrecht; grandson of Pat and the late Bill Stewart; survived by Uncle Gregg and Aunt Joan Stewart; and cousins, Justin, Ryan (Stephanie) Stewart, and Jaimee (Andy) Johnson. Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, December 11, 2018, WILLIAM SLATER II FUNERAL SERVICE, (412) 563-2800, 1650 Greentree Road, Scott Twp., 15220. Funeral Service 11 a.m., Wednesday, December 12, 2018 in Northway Christian Community, Dormont, 2865 Espy Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15216. (EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH). Reception following. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Light of Life Rescue Mission, P.O. Box 645427, Pittsburgh, PA 15264-5252 or online give.lightoflife.org.

Sue, Katie and family,
Please know that Chris' life matters and his story will be used for a greater good. You all were such a source of strength and hope for him and others, too. I was able to meet Chris at Northway in Dormont and so glad I had the opportunity to meet him. Sue, you have been such an inspiration to so many people who are going through a similar situation. May you all know that the love of our Lord s hands are big enough to welcome Chris in to his Kingsom and still hold you all and comfort you, all at the same time.
