Christopher Tibbetts Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 6, 2024.
Christopher M. Tibbetts, known to his loved ones as Chris, passed away on January 30, 2024, at the age of 36 in Lewiston, Maine. Born on March 2, 1987, in Portland, Maine, Chris was a kind-hearted individual who was always there for those in need. He would give his last dollar and the shirt off his back without hesitation. His selflessness will be greatly missed, but his memory will live on forever.

Chris is survived by his son Sean Capron, his sister Joss Tibbetts, and his ex-girlfriend and mother of his child, Stephanie LaBelle. He was preceded in death by his mother Cathy Tibbetts and his father Sean Connors.

Chris attended South Portland High School and went on to serve in the Army from 2007 to 2016. His dedication and service to his country were commendable.

In his free time, Chris enjoyed fishing, camping, and spending time with his friends. These hobbies brought him joy and allowed him to create lasting memories with those he cared about.

A Memorial Service will be held in New Gloucester, Maine, at the home of his aunt and uncle. The date and time of the service will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Wounded Warriors organization, a cause that Chris held dear to his heart.

Christopher M. Tibbetts will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace, knowing that his kindness and generosity touched the lives of many.

I knew Chris most of my life from age 6, he was always a kind hearted person. Saddens me to see this to be the case.. growing up with him in various places, fish8ng together when we were living in Bridgton, cont8nued our friendship in Portland, the parties and crazy things we pulled when we were young no matter how late or whatever h8s home was my h9me and my h9me was his, we even went to the same army recruiter on the same day, we lost touch as I started a family but I always thought of him like a brother.. I'm going to miss him, rest in peace Chris! Love ya brother!

I went to early elementary school in LaGrange with Chris, he lived across the street and I played very often with him. I´ve thought of him many times over the years and am happy to know he had a loving family around him - Great guy. He would shovel our driveway after storms if we weren´t home (he couldn´t have been more than 7 years old) out of his own kindness. So sad to see this and am sending prayers to his family and loved ones.

We met at the teen center. In 2005 we started dating and had a son in 2006.
