Christopher Brieger Whittle was born in Dallas, Texas on August 28, 1978. He died suddenly and unexpectedly in his home on August 3, 2020. Chris is survived by his wife of two years, Christine E. Anderson and her two daughters, Brooke and Kendall Anderson. Chris has numerous aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. Christopher attended schools in Richardson, graduating from Lloyd V. Berkner High School where he excelled in sports. He was awarded an athletic scholarship to play football at Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas. Chris felt the need to serve his country after September 11, 2001 but deferred his induction until 2003 when he joined the US Army. He was assigned to the 1st Ranger Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment. He served in Charlie Company and Delta Company as a rifleman, machine gunner, anti-tank team leader and a line squad team leader. He was deployed to Baghdad and Afghanistan for several tours. After his service as a Ranger, Chris was accepted to Warrant Officer School to train as a helicopter pilot in Fort Bragg, North Carolina where he resided until his retirement from the Army in 2017. After Chris returned to Texas, he met his wife, Christine, falling in love with her and her twins girls. He loved being their step-father and was a faithful and loving husband. He had just been accepted to Texas A & M San Antonio to complete his degree. Chris was a devoted son who loved his family. If you were lucky enough to be his friend, he was your friend for life. He helped anyone he could, co-workers and neighbors. He will be missed. Chris will be interred at a private ceremony at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas on August 28, 2020 with full military honors. This news comes as a shock to me. Chris was such a dear friend and I'm honored to have been a teammate of his and to have him stand by me in my wedding. I'm thinking of him and his family as they continue to heal.
