Cian Francis O'Neill

Dear O'Neill Family,

I am extremely saddened to hear of Cian's passing. We attended Rio Americano and were in CIVITAS together for four years. He was someone I thought of often after we graduated and I remember him as one of the smartest people in our class and above all a good hearted person. There were many moments throughout our education where Cian showed himself to think deeply beyond every issue that cause me to still think about some of his insights to this day. My deepest sympathy to your family.

Dear Gearóid, Catherine and Alanna, I am very sorry to only recently hear of Cian's passing from a Shamrock Hill neighbour. By all accounts he was a great young man.I remember Cian from an accidental meeting we had in West Cork many years ago. Please also accept condolences from Geraldine Kissane (Tralee) who was very saddened by the news. Ar dheis dé go raibh a anam.

My mom and I remember Cian so fondly from the days when he rode with Joey and Lenny. He was a beautiful rider and an extremely smart and kind person. We were so shocked and saddened to hear of his passing and are sending you our deepest condolences.

I was grieved to read about Cian in the Bee. When my wife first asked if I had taught someone named Cian, I was able to immediately picture a lanky young man with an easy smile and an eagerness to engage with the world. With so many full classes, I don't always remember students as well as I wish I could, but I remembered Cian because he would stop and chat for a minute at the end of class, and I could sense his friendliness and his interest in others. Thoughtful and kind, he was one of the good ones. I am sorry for your loss, and my heart goes out to you.

Youll go on with the memories, youll work through the good ones and the bad ones, and youll find what was stolen from you, locked away in a special place in your heart, a place that you will return to, often!

Believe me, life seems so often to have no purpose. But when you look into that special places in your heart, it is there, pounding with each beat, pulsating through your body, and you will appreciate all the time that you had with Cian; Which will help you to appreciate what you have right now.

I'm very sorry for the loss of your lovely son and brother. The photo you posted of him, he looks like a very friendly, handsome, and wonderful young man. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Cian and I shared many happy memories, especially as we grew older. Cian was intelligent, kind and great fun. Cian was my younger American cousin. We spent loads of summers together in Ireland when they came to visit when we were younger. We always had such a great time together and had the craic from morning to night.

As he got older I got to know him as the fine man he turned out to be. He was one of the nicest guys you could meet and an incredibly smart man. He had such a vast knowledge of politics and I am sure he completed his degree in International relations and politics with ease. He was truly a great all round person and I know he will be deeply missed by everyone.
