Cindy Lee Walden

Cindy Lee Walden, 64, passed away at home recently. She left behind her husband of 46 years, Bobby, her son Matthew Ryan "Wally", Mother Carol Lee, sisters Julie and Elizabeth, stepson Robb and daughter in-law Julie with Grandson Jake, as well as numerous cousins, nephews and nieces and their respective families.

Cindy had the biggest heart and a love of animals, especially dogs. The latest set of Harold, Kumar, Mhysa and Bliss search for her daily.

Carol Lee mourns the loss of her first-born child and her best friend as they had a very close, loving, and daily relationship. Her surviving daughters Julie and Elizabeth will miss their "big sister"; the youngest sister, Denise, was lost many years before.

Cindy completed high school in Lake Isabella, CA. During her senior year she raised a state champion steer by winning both the Kern County and L.A. County fairs. She also starred in a production of the play M.A.S.H. as Hot Lips. Cindy attended Bakersfield College on a scholarship at which time she met Bobby and they married in 1975 moving to Reno that year.

Cindy was very active in her faith and a founding member of the Sparks Foursquare Church for over 40 years. She helped extensively with the Billy Graham Revival visit to Reno and was a true "Martha" throughout her life.

Cindy's loved kids and provided daycare specializing in infants and toddlers. She later started a career with Zales Jewelry in the Park Lane and Meadowood Mall. Cindy had strength of character and a tremendous work ethic that led to earning her own store in Ventura, CA. A forced retirement due to severe and debilitating work-related injuries did not prevent Cindy from giving comfort to others or continually showing kindness and modeling a loving spirit. Many were blessed by Cindy's gentle nature, unique ability to care for others better than herself, and her love that lives on.

Cindy demonstrated her faith in her Lord Jesus and the strength that He gave her that this world will miss.

Parting words by loved ones include: "See you soon sweetness," "Bye Mom," "Good-bye sweet child of mine," Bye-bye big sister," "See you again soon."

I think about you constantly and cannot believe, still, how quickly you were gone. I had just spoken with you on the phone three days before. I can't believe you are gone. I will miss you always. A precious and beautiful person and you will forever be missed. Bobby and Matt, my heart goes out to you. I loved Cindy. I have no words to adequately express my condolences to you both but, please know that you both are in my thoughts. Until we see each other again, sweet Cindy. xoxo, Glenna
