Cinnamon Howard Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 8, 2023.
Cinnamon Marie Howard, affectionately known as Cin, was born October 6, 1973 in Northern California and died in her home on August 7, 2023 in Colorado Springs, Colorado, after a tough battle with Ovarian Cancer.

Cin grew up in the Pacific Northwest and found her way to colorful Colorado in the 1990's, where she discovered her youthful spirit and genuine love for life. Cinnamon is the proud mother of four beautiful children. Colorado was where she decided to raise and teach each of her kids the purest love a mother could give.

Cinnamon was active in each of her children's lives and supported them with every football & basketball game, concession stand shift, and travelling tournament. She was the most loving mother and everyone's biggest cheerleader. Cinnamon always had your back!

Times were not always easy for Cin and her kids, but regardless of what life threw at her, she always pushed forward. Anyone who knew Cinnamon, knew she didn't live for her work, but worked to give the life she always wanted for her kids and cherished the time she had. Anyone in her presence was bound to laugh until they cried and listen to (at least) one Justin Bieber song.

Her greatest joy was watching her kids laugh, cry, succeed, and go through life's mysteries. Throughout the years as her kids entered adulthood, it was important for Cin to create family traditions. These traditions that would bring her kids together every year, no matter where they were in life. Mother's Day and birthday traditions at the Melting Pot will continue to live in the hearts of her children.

When Cinnamon was first diagnosed, she quickly became an advocate and walking motivation for Ovarian Cancer Awareness and worked closely with organizations like Sue's Gift. Her strength touched everyone she met during her journey and her smile gave everyone the hope they needed.

Cinnamon is preceded in death by Daniel Chaussee (father) and Rodney Baudizzon (brother) and survived by Kathleen Chaussee (mother), Kimberly Hall (sister), Samara Stafford (daughter), Elijah Hobdy (son), Jaidyn Hobdy (son), Rylan Howard (son), and her beloved dog Macy. She will be greatly missed by all.

There will be a Celebration of Life: Sunday, September 17th, 2023, 2pm at John Venzia Park, House Pavilion (East - closet to the seasonal restrooms and largest parking lot), 3555 Briargate Pkwy, Colorado Springs, CO 80920. Prior to Cinnamon's Celebration of Life, the family invites you to attend the Sue's Gift Be Ovary Aware event, Be Ovary Aware 5K Run + 3K Walk.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to a local ovarian cancer nonprofit in Cinnamon's honor, Sue's Gift or COCA (Colorado Ovarian Cancer Alliance).

Cinnamon & my sister Hillary were inseparable as well as partners in crime. We all had free spirited moms, that gave us WAY too much freedom. Thank you for being there for my sister, Hillary. I wish we had been closer later in life, but I saw your journey. I know you were a mom who loved without limits. Your kids were blessed!!!

My heart is broken.. Cinnamon and my daughter were friends since Jr High school in Oregon. She spent a lot of time with us on our farm and she was like one of my own. Oh my goodness, she and my daughter Hillary would get so mad at her Mom and I ..They would say it was like they were the parents... but really those two could get into some mischief...I remember the night I caught them sneaking out late at night...I love reading about what a wonderful dedicated mother was ... I was so happy when I reconnected with her several years ago on Facebook. I loved seeing the pictures of all you kids, and how proud she is of each of you. I am so grateful to hear she had such wonderful support at the end of her time hear on earth... She messaged me and said she had to keep fighting for her kids. I want to send my each and everyone of you, and all of you her friends. Nancy Shadomy

So many memories but my favorite was `moms night out´ while we were on a basketball trip in Vegas! We had so much fun and laughed all night long!

I´ll always cherish the times we spent when we were younger hanging out together, taking trips with our grandma and my mom and just being cousins. I´m so grateful we maintained contact through the years. She will be greatly missed. My heart is with her children and family

I am so sorry for the loss of my beautiful niece. I have memories of a trip we took. One in particular to Yellowstone when Cinnamon was like 7 and her cousin Shauna was 8. I know that Cinnamon was taken too soon and will be missed. Love you.

"Her journey"
Don´t think of her as gone away
Her journey´s just begun, life holds so many facets this earth is only one.
Just think of her as resting from the sorrow and the tears in a place of warmth and comfort, where there are no days and years.
Think how she must be wishing that we could know today had nothing but our sadness can really pass away. And think of her as living in the hearts of those she touched, for nothing loved is ever lost, and she was loved so much."

It was such a blessing to be able to work with cinnamon in the times I got too! She was always such a bright light on stormy days and had such a presence she could bring peace among wars. My heart aches for losing such a precious soul. My prayers are with her family and kids, she loved them more than life itself and her memory will forever live on.

Spent many years of days, nights and weekends in the gym with Cinnamon and the boys. She always had such a contagious laugh and smile. I will miss her. She is so strong and fought a tough battle. She is the true definition of strength and perseverance, just like her tattoo of Rosie. Love and prayers to all, love the Johnson family. Coach Drew, Jennifer, Bubba, Jojo, Ray Ray, and Micah
