On June 18, 2019, Claire peacefully rejoined her father, Rege DeSano. Claire was full of life, outgoing and fun. She enjoyed relaxing on the boat with her husband, Thomas and their many friends. Claire had undeniable love and compassion for her family. She was extremely generous and cared about every part of their lives. Each time her family gathered, she greeted them with a loud hello, and smiled as if she hadn't seen them in years. She spent countless hours helping family and friends with challenges in their lives. But most of all, Claire was their friend, and now, will always be their guardian angel. She is survived by her loving husband, Thomas Coffey; her mother, Josephine DeSano; step-mother of Amy Hersh; sister of Richard (Patty) DeSano and Marianne (Rick) Kearney; also survived by many nieces, nephews, and step-grandchildren. Friends welcome on Friday, from 2-7 p.m., at WILLIAM SLATER II FUNERAL SERVICE, 1650 Greentree Rd., Scott Township. Blessing Service at 7 p.m., followed by a reception. www.slaterfuneral.com.

What I remember that is so endearing is when we were kids, we lived across the street from each other. All the siblings played together. On hot days, our mothers would put us in these "tin" or aluminum containers, fill them with water and we would splash and play all afternoon in the hot sun of summer.
I've known Claire and her family as far back as two or three years old. When I worked downtown, we would run into each other occasionally wave, laughing, being in a hurry. I wish we would have stopped and talked a little more....
My sympathies to her family...Jo, Marianne, Ricky and all who loved her. She's with her Dad now in heaven. I'm sure it is a wonderful reunion. I will miss you, Claire.
