Claire Ann McDonald Hechler, 89, passed away Thursday April 6, 2023, surrounded by family and loved ones.
Claire was born Oct. 12, 1933 in Prairie View, Texas to William Oscar and Mary Frances McDonald. She graduated from SWTSU, with honors. Claire was married to Lt. Col James E. Hechler for 38 years before his passing in 1995.
She worked at the Fort Worth Neiman Marcus for 15 years, garnering many awards and close friendships.
She enjoyed over 20 years with her partner, Rick Peterson and together they relished their evenings out at various restaurants.
Claire was preceded in death by her husband, Jim; partner, Rick; parents; and sister, Dorothy Jean McDonald Slanina.
Survivors: Sons, James Edward Hechler, Jr., (Tracey), Patrick William Hechler and Dr. Robert Parham (Kim); daughter, Holly Ann Hechler (Stephen); sister, Theresa McDonald Corbett; brother, William "Billy" McDonald (Marie); grandsons, Jay (Kelsey), Joey (Kaytlin), Chris (Kelsey) and Jacob; granddaughter, Katelyn; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral: 1 p.m. Friday, April 21, 2023, at Holy Family Catholic Church. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Greenwood.
