Clara Elizabeth Johnson, born on December 23, 1927 in Houston, Texas; daughter, sister, devoted wife, and loving mother went home to be with the lord on Saturday, August 13, 2011. Most of her adult life was spent in Baytown close to family and cherished friends. She graduated from Galena Park high in 1942.
Clara was very artistic and loved to create beautiful handmade crafts. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Baytown. She spent her career working in the banking industry and retired as a supervisor at Peoples State Bank. Clara was a 6th generation Texan and a member of a Texas pioneer family.
Clara is preceded in death by her father and mother; George and Gladys Bennett; daughter, Vicki Johnson and her brother and sister; Herman and Eugenia Bennett.
Clara is survived by her husband Cecil Johnson of Baytown; daughter, Reba and Eugene Shawn of Baytown; son, Charles Patrick West of Houston; son, Johnny Fannett of Milwaukie Oregon; son Larry Johnson of Baytown; daughter, Patti Johnson of Baytown; and daughter Kathy Tompkins and her husband Dave Clark of North Pole Alaska. Clara had 10 grandchildren, 15 great- grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandson.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2011, at Earthman Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2011, at Earthman Funeral Home. Interment will follow at San Jacinto Memorial Park, Houston.
Arrangements under the direction of Earthman Baytown Funeral Home, Baytown, TX.

My grandma was the best women ever. I will continue to strive everyday to be just like her. She will and has been greatly missed. Its going to be very hard to go back to texas to visit the family and her not be there but her and my other grandma were friends and we lost her also in january so i know they are both up in heaven with each other looking down on all of us kids to protect us and keep us safe. We all love you grams and you will be forever in our hearts. Uncle Pat, Aunt Reba, Uncle Johnny, and my wonderful mom You guys are so lucky to have had such a wonderful and loving mother. Just remember she is in a better place and will always be with you and remember some day you will see her again. I love you all very much. R.I.P GRAMS
