MONFORTON, Clara (nee Soulliere)

Clara Elizabeth Soulliere was born Sept. 23, 1926 in Windsor, Ontario, Canada the daughter of Margaret and Alphonse Soulliere and sister of Earl Soulliere. On May 8th, 1948 she married Paul R. In 1952 with one in tow and their first daughter, Mary-Ann, on the way Paul got a job at the Automobile Club of Michigan and they moved to Detroit.
In Detroit, Clara and Paul had the pleasure of living in a wonderful neighborhood, on Corbett, for 10 years, making lifelong friends with many of their neighbors. They welcomed two more children, Janet Frances and Paul Martin, "Marty". In 1964 after the birth of their son, Toby Louis, Clara and Paul and their five children moved to Grosse Pointe Woods which was her home until her death.
Known for her beautiful smile, sense of humor, joie de vivre, and an occasional Manhattan or two, Clara was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
