Clara was the most self-effacing, helpful soul I have ever had the privilege to call my friend. She spent her life helping othersher parents, her colleagues at work, her elderly next-door neighborwhile trying valiantly to teach me Spanish. The world was her home and she had friends on at least three continents, always comfortable speaking to them in their language. Rest in peace, Clara. I will miss you dearly.

Clara, I'll always remember you for our nearly 50-year friendship, and for your patience while you taught me Spanish. We had many good conversations in person over the years, while we drank tea with rum. Later, after I moved to Tucson, we continued our conversations weekly, over the telephone. I can't forget the delicious Hungarian dinners you prepared for Roger and me. I will miss you.
