Clara E. Wideman

Clara E. Wideman SPARTANBURG -- Mrs. Clara E. Wideman 84, of 216 Maxine Street, formerly of 1304 Ogelsby Avenue, Greenwood, passed away May 5, 2015 in Spartanburg, SC. She was born in Greenwood County August 22, 1930, a daughter of the late James Douglas and Mary Johnson. She was married to the late Sammie Wideman. She was a graduate of Brewer High School and Shaw University in Raleigh, NC. Clara taught school for over 34 years in the SC School System. Clara was a member of Morris Chapel Baptist Church and served for several years on the MLK Mass Choir and the Senior Choir of Morris Chapel Baptist Church. She belonged to the Order of Easter Star, Epsilon Psi Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority and Charmelette. She leaves to cherish her memory: her loving son and daughter-in-law, Samuel and Stacie Wideman of Spartanburg; six grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Margaret Smith of Greenwood; her beloved dogs, Buttons and Daisy; and many relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at Morris Chapel Baptist Church, with Bishop Oliver T. McCray, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Evening Star Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Deacons and Trustees. Flower bearers will be Zeta Phi Beta Sorority.
