Clarence knew me as Louis Holman or Lou. He hired me to work at Metropolitan when I was a junior in high school and I worked with him throughout my college years during the summer months. He taught me how to be a great worker, how to get a job accomplished and not do a half done job. How to complete a task. How to search for the answer without calling someone else to help you unless it was absolutely necessary. He would always tell me "boy stop playing we got work to do". He was a black man who was in charge and he was the boss. That impressed me so much that I still carryout those principles today. May God be pleased with him and my love for him will live on in me till I cross that same road. Thanks Clarence and family. Peace be unto you.

The McCants were my neighbors on Pitt Street in the 1970's. They were the cutest, nicest, most out-going folks. I smiled when I saw his name this morning. I had often wondered how he has done all these years. My thoughts and prayers are with you as you grieve the loss of this nice man.

To the Family of the late Mr. Clarence McCants, I extend my condolences upon having heard of the loss of your loved one. A number of us throughout The Lowcountry can recall the tag line "Don't Turn Nobody Down" when he appeared in television advertisements, and being that he was also such a pillar of the community. There is consolation in knowing that he is resting in the arms of our Heavenly Father.
Mr. McCants will be sorely missed.
