Clarice Lubs Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 28, 2025.
Clarice Lynn Lubs (née Dipert), age 66, passed away on May 11, 2025, in Midwest City, Oklahoma after a short and difficult battle against lung cancer.

Born on November 12, 1958, in Peoria, Illinois, Clarice spent her early years in Kingsbury, Indiana. She graduated from LaPorte High School in LaPorte, Indiana, in 1976, where she was a member of the gymnastics team-an early testament to her energy and determination. Throughout her youth, she was also active in the Tracy United Methodist Church youth group and a long-time 4-H member.

In 1980, Clarice relocated to Oklahoma City, where she began a long and distinguished career at Tinker Air Force Base. Starting in October 1982, she became a civilian aircraft engine mechanic and electrician, dedicating over four decades to her work. Her commitment and leadership were recognized when she became a shift supervisor nearly ten years ago-a role she held with pride until her retirement in May 2025.

Beyond her professional life, Clarice had a deep passion for animals-particularly Doberman Pinschers. Raising and breeding them brought her great joy and fulfillment over the years. She also channeled her entrepreneurial spirit into running a successful Mary Kay cosmetics business for many years.

Clarice is survived by her husband Brad Lubs (married July 28, 1979); her sisters Jan (Bob) Morrison of South Bend, Indiana, and Sue Zobrist of Mesa, Arizona; and her brother Dan (Amy) Dipert of Walkerton, Indiana. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews who will remember her with affection.

She was preceded in death by her birth parents Nancy (Wilson) Dipert and Wayne Zobrist; her adoptive father C. Wayne Dipert; and her sister Myrna Dipert.

Clarice's life was marked by dedication-to her work, to the animals she loved, and to those around her. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.

A celebration of life open house will be held Saturday, June 7 from 11:00 am-2:00 pm CST at Tracy Church, 1702 US-35, Hamlet, IN 46532. Interment will be at Kingsbury Cemetery.
