Clark Aaron McConnell

Clark Aaron McConnell, a longtime resident of Castle Rock, Colorado, passed away on December 30, 2018. He was diagnosed with leukemia on October 7, 2018 and went through multiple treatments that were unsuccessful in controlling the disease.

Clark was born on September 17, 1976 in Callaway, Nebraska to Bruce and Madellan "Kay" McConnell. He attended Arnold Public Schools and participated in football, basketball and track throughout his high school years. After high school, Clark went to the University of Nebraska – Kearney where he earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in Construction Management. Upon graduation from college in 1999, Clark moved to Denver, Colorado to pursue his career in Construction Management with his high school sweetheart, Mindy Lynn Strasburg. Clark and Mindy were united in marriage on August 7, 1999. They were blessed with two children, Tristen Dawn and Reed Aaron.

He loved spending time with his family and was involved in coaching both of his kids in sports at some point in their life. He loved his kids' friends and teammates like his own. He was an amazing husband, father, son, friend and role model. Clark was also a successful businessman, starting Alpine Construction in 2011 - framing and siding homes for many of Denver's largest homebuilders. Clark loved cars (and car shows), guns and Nebraska Cornhusker football.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gordon and Bonnie McConnell and George and Velma Morrison; Aunt, Patty Jones; Niece, Juliet Strasburg.

Clark is survived by his wife, Mindy McConnell; daughter, Tristen; son, Reed; parents, Bruce and Kay McConnell; sisters, Lori McConnell and Patti (Andy) Schwarz; sister-in-law, Candi (Tyler) Lewis; brother-in-law, Justin (Jailyn) Strasburg; Nieces and Nephews, Blake, Bailey and Bryn Schwarz, Courtney Becker, Breckyn and Creighton Lewis, Piper and Parker Strasburg; mother-in-law, Penny (Bob) Allen; father-in-law, Kevin (Ann) Strasburg; numerous, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and dear friends.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 5, at the Ridgeline Church in Castle Rock. A pizza and Pepsi reception will immediately follow the service.
