I send my condolences to Claude's family, particularly my RMC classmate his brother Jules. I knew Claude in the RCAF and then succeeded him in Transport Canada and can attest to his flying and leadership abilities. A true professional.

My sincere sympathies to the LaFrance family. Claude was respected for his professionalism, sincerity, and enduring contribution to Canada, aviation, and the aerospace industry. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

My deepest respect. Maj. Gen. Lafrance was Base Commander of CFB Winnipeg when I arrived as a new RMC graduate. He truly exemplified qualities of a great leader.

Please accept my sincerest condolences on the passing of our highly respected Air Force friend and colleague, MGen (Ret'd) Claude LaFrance. Claude will always be remembered as a true gentleman, a consummate professional, an exceptional pilot and leader and an exemplary member of the community of aviators. Our thoughts and prayers are with all members of the LaFrance family and his wide circle of friends during this difficult time of grieving.

To Monique and family. We are very sorry for your loss of such a wonderful man. Being neighbours for a short time we came to know Claude and found him to be such a gentle soul. He will be missed. Greg and Barbara Bode.

It was an honour to have Claude open the #1 (F) Wing reunion in 2006 in Stittsville, ON. Over 300 military & civilian staff that had been stationed in Marville, France during the Cold War attended this celebration. He will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege of meeting him and working by his side. What a wonderful life to emulate! Que son âme repose en paix!

Condolences to Andre and all of Claude's families - I remember him as a young man in NDHQ l963 as a truly fine gentleman with a sense of humour and a sweet smile and so proud of his family - we often talked about our boys (bragged) who were about 5 years old at the time. Happy Landings. ]

I haven't seen Claude for years but worked with him at HQ in l963 when he was a young man, and he truly was a gentleman, and I remember that he had a good sense of humour and a sweet smile as well. We often talked about (bragged) about our boys, who were roughly the same age at the time -about 5 years old. He was very proud of his family, and I am sure will be sadly missed by them all.
