Claudette Adams

Claudette Adams, 74 year old Mooreland resident, died Monday, May 19, 2009 in Oklahoma City. A Celebration of Life Wake Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, May 21, 2009 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 22, 2009 at the Sure Foundation Church of God. Burial will follow at the Red Top Cemetery in Colony, Oklahoma at 4:30 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.

Claudette Short Adams was born on October 11, 1934 at Caddo Gap, Arkansas to Richard Edward and Esther (Horn) Short. She grew up near Caddo Gap and Amity, Arkansas. Claudette received her formal education at a country school near Amity.On January 8, 1954 she was united in marriage to Art Adams at Clovis, New Mexico. Their first home was established at Olton, Texas then to Herford, Texas, where their son Steve Edward was born. They moved from Herford to Cowden, Oklahoma, for a short time, before moving to Amity, Arkansas. In the early 1980's the family moved to Hydro and in the late 1980's they moved to Mooreland.

Claudette was a member of the Assemblies of God, Church of God Church. She wrote and sung gospel music and was at one time licensed with the Assemblies of God. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren gave her the most enjoyment in life, she loved them dearly. Claudette's church was very important to her and she loved serving the Lord.

She is survived by her husband Art Adams of Mooreland; one son Steve Adams of Mooreland; four grandchildren, Jerimy Adams, Joshua Adams, Monica Adams, and Misty Bates; nine great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Okal Francis.Remembrances may be shared on-line at www.billingsfuneralhomewoodward.com
