Claudia Lindberg Obituary

Published by Star Tribune on Apr. 20, 2008.
Lindberg, Claudia Kay (Brooks) Claudia, a beloved child of God, was called home to be with her Lord on April 18, 2008. She was 59 years old and had lived fully with metastatic breast cancer for 2 years. She is survived by Richard, her loving, sensitive, and wonderful husband of 39 years. Together they have 4 incredible children and 4 grandchildren: Aaron and wife, Rochelle, parents of Austin, Grace, Gavin, and Lillian; Adam; Ryan and wife Nicole; and Carrie. Claudia is also survived by her parents, Doug and Noreene Brooks who filled her life with their love and two very special siblings, Pam (Fred) Buchholz, parents of Bethany and Brooke; and Jeff (Maura) Brooks, parents of Adelle and Ronan. Claudia loved her family, visiting with friends, growing in her faith, and her work. She taught for Minneapolis, Osseo, and Robbinsdale School Districts. It was in Robbinsdale where she started the parent program for parents of children with special needs. She was blessed with incredible co-workers and delighted in knowing the children and their parents. This is where she found her true calling. The visitation will be Friday, April 25 from 4:30-7:30 PM at Brooklyn United Methodist Church, 7200 Brooklyn Boulevard, Brooklyn Center. The service of remembrance and celebration of Claudia's life will also be at Brooklyn United Methodist on Saturday, April 26 at 2:00 PM. Please wear bright colors to help celebrate her new life. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to Brooklyn United Methodist Church, Dillon International, Inc., or the American Cancer Society, Midwest Division.

Lindberg Family ~
I lived across the street from you on Zealand, and was a good friend of Aaron and Adams growing up. Although it seems like yesterday, it has been quite some time since we have spoken, but I will always remember Claudia. It's hard to try to find just the right words to say, but feeling the love that is there from all who love and care for you will help you all. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Rick, we worked together for many years. I remember the last time I saw you at a training session, you had recently received work that Claudia's cancer had returned. I know you were very worried and wanted to retire so you and Claudia could spend as much time together as possible. I know words don't always convey the loss you must feel of the encouragement all of your friends and family wish for you, but sincerely, I wish all the best for you and you family in the future and I am very sorry for your loss.
