YORKTOWN, - Claudine T. Casey died peacefully on December 3, 2017. She was born in Saltville, VA on September 12, 1930 to Howard and Verda Tolbert. She attended William & Mary and majored in English and Psychology. She was a former school teacher and later retired from Langley Air Force Base. Claudine loved to read and would often read a book a day. Her other passion was playing scrabble. Claudine was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Verda Tolbert, her husband, Arthur, her brother, Charles, and her nephew, Charles Quincy Tolbert. She is survived by her son Tony, her daughter-in-law, Heidi, grandchildren, Kelly and Kyle; sisters, Shirley Lindsay and Carol Pindar; her nephews Jerry and Steven Stillwell; Frank Pindar, Jr and her nieces, Carol Denise Skrypek and Charlotte Smith. The family is grateful to the staff at Morningside Assisted Living, especially Kathy and Melonee, for the compassionate care given to Claudine during her illness. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Southeastern Virginia Chapter, 6350 Center Drive, Suite 102, Norfolk, Virginia 23502 Per her request, the graveside service will be private. Berceuse Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
