Clayetta Howard Speltz

Clayetta "Dixie" Howard Speltz, born Clayetta Howard Blue on March 13, 1929, in Pueblo, Colorado, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2025, in El Dorado Hills, California, at the age of 96.

Dixie was the proud mother of four children: Carol J. Marble, Kathleen M. Dolan, Ginger S. Long, and William C. Long. Her legacy continues through her 10 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild, each of whom carries forward a part of her enduring spirit.

Known affectionately as Dixie, she lived a long and vibrant life marked by her generosity of spirit and a deep love for dancing. Her presence brought warmth and joy to those around her, and her graceful energy left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

Throughout her life, Dixie found joy in movement and music. Dancing was not just a pastime but a passion that reflected her zest for life. Whether in celebration or quiet moments among loved ones, she embraced every opportunity to dance with grace and enthusiasm.

Dixie met her husband and the love of her life, Hal Speltz, later in life. They created a home that radiated warmth and unwavering devotion during their 15 years of marriage. Together they embarked on new adventures which brought Dixie a newfound sense of happiness that stayed with her even after his passing.

Her generous heart touched many lives. She gave freely of herself-her time, her kindness, and her unwavering support-leaving behind memories filled with compassion and love.

May her memory bring comfort to those who knew her and continue to inspire acts of kindness in the world she leaves behind.
