I've been looking for Clayton Kim for awhile. Checked the Boise, Idaho tele operator. Now, in Google Search, Clayton Kim comes up; but, not the way I hoped for.
If this is Clayton Kim, high school in Boise, Univ of Hawaii, Tu Chiang Sheh Fraternity, UAL CEO's requested 3rd major wave of "Hawaii born, all-male" new hires betw '66-'69 for United Airlines for Honolulu's based flight stewards. Clay's base seniority was 70 (+/-). Our flying was betw SFO, LAX, SAN. This was a college summer job for most of us. After the Univ of Hawaii, he moved on and worked for a travel agency and, Aloha Airlines.
I see his photo.
This is Clay as I remember him. Still the same smile. he was quick in wit and, well liked by all that came into contact w/ him. Always had something nice to say.
We use to surf together in Waikiki those were the days.
We had fun at Shakey's Pizza w/ the frat & our sister sorority, Tesh She Sheh, Friday nights, pitchers of beer, singing to be heard above the crowds of college students. Then, it was on to CoCo's for a quick snack w/ everyone. Surfing the next morning. Fun times !!!
:-)
I always thought I'd catch up with him, later_ go trout fishing. See his home town, Boise. Maybe, get the Frat brothers together to travel in our retirement yrs.
Time, has moved too fast; but, at least, fond memories last forever.
I'll miss you Clay. You take care of yourself. I'll see you in heaven, someday.
Aloha & Mahalo for being my friend.

Clay was a fellow classmate (1962) of mine at Borah High School in Boise. He was one of the smartest, most clever and lovable members of our class.

What a sad time it is to lose a dear friend of the Aloha Spirit. Clay was a joy to be with because he radiated a sense of happiness and caring. Few have the passion for the Hawaiian Islands as Clay and it was embedded in his personality always. We worked with Clay very closely selling the Aloha experience for over 20 years and his wisdom and reliability were unsurpassed. Our sincere prayers and best wishes to Winona and the family at this difficult time.

I first met Clay in 1974 or 75 when I was looking after the office at Kailani Travel while Rick and Dee we're seeing their first group off to Kauai. He was a rep for Aloha Airlines I think and was wearing a white shirt and dark suit. I fell in love immediately with his gentle spirit and have enjoyed seeing him since at Trade Shows.

Condolences to Winona (whom I also enjoyed knowing) and family.
