Clayton Ridgway Obituary
April 15, 1930 - August 26, 2011
On August 26, 2011, Clayton Ridgway passed away peacefully at the age of 81 years, surrounded by his loving family.
Left to cherish and honour his life are Margaret, his loving wife of 58 years; five children, Dianne (Ron), David (Debbie), Edward (Julie), Ken (Anne), Joan (Colin); thirteen grandchildren, Tricia (Trevor), Michael (Jayne), Amy (Clayton), Leighanne, Katie, Angela (Craig), Joanne, Rhonda, Jennifer, Cameron, Kristy (Devon), Samantha and Alex; nine great-grandchildren, Jakob, Brooke, Greyson, Elizabeth, Luke, Cheyenne, Mason, Emily and Hailey; younger brothers, Stan (Amy), Larry (Dot) and Wayne (Veronica); brother-in-law, Tarleton (Lib), and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Clayton was born in La Fleche, Saskatchewan and later moved to Welwyn, Saskatchewan, where his life with Margaret began. He attended medical school at the University of Saskatchewan and graduated with a degree in medicine from the University of Manitoba. He practiced general medicine in Theodore, Saskatchewan and later specialized in ophthalmology at the University of Alberta. He retired after a long, happy and successful career. Clayton was a long-time Rotarian, an avid curler and golfer, and enjoyed playing dominoes and Aces to Kings. His greatest joys in life were his family, friends, home in Arizona, his garden, a great steak and a wee dram of scotch.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of the Mazankowski Heart Institute, Unit 5A6 for their understanding and compassionate care.
A Celebration of Claytons Life will be held at the Derrick Club, 3500 - 119 Street, Edmonton on Thursday, September 1 at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute, 8440 - 112 Street, Edmonton, AB, T6G 2B7 or to a charity of your choice.

I'm so sorry for your loss. He will be truly missed. I have fond memories of family curling games, and Jasper Thanksgiving and Laguna Beach vacations. He was so much loved by his compassionate family. I enjoyed our times together every now and then while growing up in Edmonton. You are in my thoughts.
