Cleo Greeson Osborne

My grandmother was a beautiful person whose love, laughter, light touched all of us. She graced us with her presence and she will be missed by all who knew her. The question is often asked: "Did this person make a difference? Did she leave the world a better place?" Thinking of my grandmother I can only say, "She made a difference, every day of her life."

I worked with Cleo 23 years ago but also grew up with her and Bob as friends. She was an absolute gas, especially when showing her leopard skin girdle from underneath her Public Health uniform. She was a huge supporter of children and orthopedics, and lover of dogs (She hooked us up with a breeder of Schnauzers). She was a hard worker and dear friend. She will be truly missed.

One thing for certain was that if you ever met Cleo....you would never forget her. She was a character and I mean that in the best way possible. I know she will be missed but all that knew her....were truly blessed.

Cleo was a distant cousin, and I haven't seen her much in years, but I treasure my memoirs of her. When I was a student at Whitsett Elementary School in the early 1940s, she gave me inoculations (we called them "shots"). Later we often laughed about them.

I moved away from the area when I went off to college, but I saw her occasionally over the years, and I value my long distant relationship with her. So sorry she has died, but she lived a good life, as far as I know.

Cleo: I have been taking communion to you for almost 10 years but I feel I still have not heard all your amazing and humorous tories about your life. I will miss you.
