SILER CITY — Cletus Hudson, 84, of 121 Hudson Road, Siler City died Monday, September 19, 2011.
Mr. Hudson was born November 28, 1926 the son of George Adam and Beulah (Fox) Hudson. Mr. Hudson was a native of Chatham County, a member and Deacon of Loves Creek Baptist Church, where he was a Sunday School Teacher and held numerous other offices. Cletus was a Navy veteran of WW II, past president of the Board of Realtor, President of the Optimist Club, and a member of the American Legion Post #93. He was an agent for Jefferson-Pilot Life Insurance for 28 years, owner of Preferred Realty for 20 years. Mr. Hudson was an avid Duke fan and enjoyed working in his yard and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Gibson Hudson.
He is survived by one daughter: Ginger H. Clark and husband, Tony of Siler City, NC and two sons: Jeff Hudson of Austin, TX, Butch Hudson and wife, Debra of Siler City, NC; grandchildren, Chase and Cole Hudson, Jessica and Trey Clark; sisters: Georgia H. Barth of Siler City, NC, Shirley H. Lindley of Siler City, NC, Joyce H. Bowers of Siler City, NC, Jean H. Dark of Siler City, NC, Faye H. McMath of Siler City, NC, Betty H. Albright of Siler City, NC; three brothers: Jack Hudson of Siler City, NC, Howard Hudson of Siler City, NC, Bobby Hudson of Siler City, NC.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 21, 2011 from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. prior to funeral service at the church. The funeral will be Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at 3 p.m. at Loves Creek Baptist Church, 1745 East 11th Street, Siler City with Rev. Bob Boyd and Rev. Ed Elliott officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
