I had the privilege to work with Kip at UBC. I valued his work and loved the WEDGE and Pacific Education Press curriculum documents. We had always talked about trying to make them e-books. Kip showed kindness and respect for his students and colleagues. I mourn his passing and hope that you know just how much he will be missed.

His spelling binding stories, and passion for teaching made him one of the best. Field Trips to Bowen were the most memorable.

I was at UBC in Mathematics Education for 24 of Kip's years at the university. He was a great mentor to many of the new faculty. He was a sounding board for discussions of new research efforts. BUT, most of all, he was simply a very nice person!

We fondly recall the many friendly conversations with Kip during Weavers' Square Dance Club events, such as dances, luncheons, group visits to his Bowen Island home. Kip will be greatly missed.
