Clifton Scott Clevenger

Clifton "Clif" Scott Clevenger, 96, of Brooksville, Florida, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2021, surrounded by his family. Clif was the second of the three sons of Harry and Delma Clevenger, born in 1925 in Leroy, Illinois. In 1945, he joined the U. S. Navy and proudly served as a radioman in the Pacific during World War II. After discharge, he married his love, Margaret Daleiden, and they moved to Lansing, Michigan. He joined the Lansing Fire Department in 1957 and rose to the rank of Assistant Chief before retiring in 1982. After retirement, he built a cabin in Bear Lake, Michigan, which became the summer home for him and his wife. They spent their winters at their home in Florida.

Clif was a friend and buddy to everyone he met. He enjoyed drinking beer with friends, cooking, gardening, hunting, fishing, and taking trips to Vegas. He made 47 trips to Wyoming to hunt, and loved the lodge at Dog Lake in Canada where he spent many summers fishing and fixing the place up. Above all, Clif loved God, his wife and family, and his country and flag. He was a true patriot and a member of The Fraternal Order of Eagles, The Veterans of Foreign Wars, The American Legion, and the Catholic Church.

Clif is survived by: his beloved wife, Maggie, with whom he celebrated 74 years of marriage; his children, Linda, Joseph, Gary, and Mary Ann (Duke); his daughter, Kathryn, who passed away three weeks after Clif; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. We will always fondly remember Clif for his kindness and love towards his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all.

A celebration of life for Clif and his daughter, Kathryn Sue Iscoe, will be held at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 3022 West Saint Joseph's Street, Lansing, Michigan, on September 17, 2022 from 1:00PM to 3:00PM.
