Abey was like an uncle to me growing up. My little sister and I grew up attending bluegrass festivals and dancing joyfully to the music of Spare Parts, the band that our dad and Abey played in together. He was always so kind and quick with a smile. Sending love to Abe’s family and all of you lovely bluegrass folks who were part of my magical childhood. Thank you for the joyful memories!

Although I haven't seen him since I was a little girl, I loved Abie dearly. He was always so funny and kind to my little sister and I when we would see him at Penny bluegrass festival's and practice sessions for "Spare Parts." What a beautiful spirit!
Sending much love and warm thoughts!

Dodie, So sorry to hear of Abes passing. He was a good friend and my best man at Pats and my wedding. We spent many good times together. I still remember going to square dances when he was playing. Pat passed away in 1999. May he rest in peace.

Dear Dodie,
Our family's memories of Abe go way back to before you and him were married. Abe, Bob Grover (The Tune Twisters), Frank Ackley, and Karl Houseknecht and I believe another friend, would come to my parents' house in West Corners and play their music for us. I was only about 12 at the time, but I remember how delighted my family was to have "the guys" there. You and my sister, Darla (Ayers) Grover were friends--you were all friends, and what a group! The enjoyment of knowing Abe has never diminished. May he rest in peace, and may God bless you and your family. Thanks for the memories, Abe!

Aunt Dodie, Randy and family, We are so sorry to hear of Uncle Clints passing. He was always a gentleman and fun to be with. I know my parents loved him very much and enjoyed your visits to Florida. I believe I remember Clint teaching our dad how to play Bass Fiddle in our kitchen in Tracy Creek, so dad could play in one of the bands Clint played in when we were young kids. Surely he is now in heaven. We will miss him.

Dodie, Randy, Trudy and family,
It is with a heavy heart that I tell you how sorry I am for your loss. Clint was a wonderful person and so fun to be around. We all watched him play for years as he blessed us with his talent. He is now playing his banjo in the heavens.
