Clinton Ray Parks, 24, a resident of Dover, died Saturday, June 26, 2010, near Beirne, Arkansas on the Little Missouri River while doing what he loved best, coon hunting. He was born December 24, 1985, at Little Rock, to Bennie Joe and Diane Jones Parks. He was a former employee of J. S. Construction and was currently employed by Ken Hull Construction. He spent his life coon and deer hunting and was a member of the Yell County, River Valley, and Tri-County Coon Hunters Associations and served on the board for Tri-County. He was a member of the Professional Kennel Club and the Cedar Grove Assembly of God at Hector. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Billy Parks and his paternal great-grandparents, Carl and Nellie Duncan. Survivors include his parents, Bennie and Diane Parks of Dover; a brother and sister-in-law, Billy and Cecilia Parks of Dover; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Tonya and Daniel Dunn of Atkins, Melissa and Andy Story of Dover, and Natasha and Jon Burdine of Dover; paternal grandparents, Dollie and Tom Gardner of Dover; maternal grandparents, the Rev. Owen and Betty Jones of Dover; his uncles and aunts, Owen and Cindy Jones of Dover, Marilynn and Nelson Polk of Hector, Debra and Blaine Freytag of Arizona, Lequitta and Wayne Jones of Russellville, Ladonna and Jackie Ferguson of Atkins, and Woody and Shirley Parks of Dover; four nephews; four nieces; and numerous cousins and friends. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 30, 2010, at the Pleasant Grove Assembly of God at Dover with the Rev. Clinton Reddell and the Rev. Larry Don Smith officiating. Burial will be in Archie Valley Cemetery near Chimes under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service. Active pallbearers will be Steven Derryberry, Greg Wilson, Michael Carr, Paul Harmon, Tyler Hays, Doug Compton, Chris Gay, and Kyle Hampton. Honorary pallbearers will be all of his coon hunting friends. Visitation will be from 6 – 8 on Tuesday at the funeral home.
