Clotilda Barsotti

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Clotilda 'Clo' Barsotti of New Milford, CT on July 13, 2025, at the age of 78. Clo was a force of nature, a connoisseur of laughter, and a favorite guest of any gathering. She leaves behind a trail of fun memories, many friends, a beloved family and a caring wife.

Born in the Bronx, New York in 1947, Clo was a vibrant spirit from the start. She had a knack for turning any ordinary moment into a fun event, or spontaneously booking a last-minute cruise to the Caribbean with her sister Eleanor. Her infectious laugh could be heard across a room. and her ability to make friends with anyone, anywhere, was truly remarkable. Clo was a highlight of any gathering and could easily make a new acquaintance into a great friend. She was a very proud Noni to her many fgrandchildren and would often speak of them. She loved tiny dogs and had many over her lifetime. She had a particular fondness for spicy food, a slice of sharp Parmesan cheese and good Mexican beer. Her spirit was bright and colorful, her presence always brought joy and warmth to those around her.

Clo worked as a Correctional Nurse at the Garner State Correctional Facility for many years. She transitioned to a Correctional Social Worker when she received her Masters in Social Work from Springfield University, She retired in 2014.

She is survived by her devoted wife, Gail Fredette, who treasured every moment with her fun-loving wife. She also leaves behind her cherished daughters Debbie Milczarski and her husband Michael,, Donna Beidermen and her husband Ron, her sister Eleanor Cozzolino and her husband Joe, her beloved grandchildren Michael Milczarski, Alyssa Milczarski, Jake Milczarski, Chloe Milczarski, Amanda Beidermen, Ally Beidermen, her niece Danielle Shook and husband Jason, her niece in law Melissa Florio, in addition to many, many friends. All will forever remember her zest for life, her loving nature and her incredible ability to find the humor in every situation. Clo is predeceased by her parents Carmela and Louis Matranga and her nephew Christopher Florio.

A Memorial Mass for this remarkable woman will be held on August 2, 2025 at the First Congregational Church of Washington, CT from 1-5pm. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that you send a donation in Clo's name to the Animal Welfare Society, 8 Dodd Rd, New Milford, Ct 06776
