Clyde C Goodwin, JR

Clyde Goodwin, a bright light on Earth, went to shine from Earth to Heaven on Feb. 10,2024. Clyde made his transition surrounded by the love of family and loved ones. Although known for his excellent work as a Senior Partner in the Law Firm of Goodwin, Gillis and Heck and as a successful Real Estate Broker, Clyde will be remembered for the joy and happiness that he brought to people every day. He would go out of his way to get something done for someone or to make something happen that would brighten someone's day. He was a joy to be around and to have around. He generously volunteered his time to serve on nonprofit Boards and Civic Organizations. Clyde dearly loved his family and his family dearly loved him and cherished him. He considered it his Number one Goal to be a good father. He excelled at that and is survived by his Son, Gabriel (Brittani) Goodwin and Sean (Greta) Heck. His second greatest goal,was to be a great Grandfather. He loved being a Grandparent and he loved every minute he spent with his beloved Granddaughters,Aria and Bryn and his beloved Grandson,Braelen. There was always laughter and fun when Grandpa Clyde was around. Clyde was loved unconditionally by his Life Partner of many decades, Erma Gillis and by her family and friends. Clyde was always there for Erma's family and friends in good times and in challenging times.Clyde was supported and loved through his toughest hours and during his transition by this large, loving group of family and friends including Erma, Gabe, Sean,Don, Marty, Monica, Graham and Kate and by his exceptional Niece, Rhiannon Freiberg, P.A., who assisted the family and stayed with Clyde many days and nights. Additionally Clyde and his family were supported by very special friends, Ron and Peg Schneider. Clyde is survived by many loving Nieces, Nephews,Cousins, Brothers in Law, Sisters in Law and Daughters in law. They all loved him and he knew it. Clyde would also want to thank his very special friend, Pam Lai,who he considered to be his right hand woman that supported him at work. We were all very blessed to have shared Clyde's life. He was a very good man and will be missed by many good friends and his large extended family. At Clyde's request there will be no Funeral or Services. He wished for each of you to remember him the way he was. In lieu of flowers the family requests that Memorial Contributions in his name be made to the Michigan Humane Society or the American Cancer Society.
